Mission Statement

North Valley Academy Charter School is committed to providing all students with a rich and well-balanced education through a rigorous focus on Mathematics, Language Arts, and an emphasis on Health and Wellness.

Administrative Outlook

We, the leadership team, have come to North Valley Academy Charter School as highly-trained, experienced, professional educators. We want the chance to try methods and practices to combat age-old problems in education. We do not want to wait on endless meetings of committees to approve what research has already proven works.

Our school attracts kinesthetic learners, and hopefully, other schools will watch the techniques we are piloting to replicate at their sites in part or entirely.

Middle school parents point to the smaller setting as one reason they prefer our school to other middle schools in the area. Having fewer than 50 students at each grade level (6-8) allows our faculty and staff to have a more intimate knowledge of student’s activities, attitudes, abilities, and to personalize student learning. Seventh and Eighth grade students have the same family of core and elective teachers for both years in order to provide as much support as possible. Our middle school is the first in Albuquerque to separate our core classes by gender in order to determine whether academic success increases.

Many families appreciate the security our small campus provides and our before and after school program draws those in need of this service. Our trimester calendar provides shorter periods of time off and enhances academic retention.
